Amenities
The perfect setting for your relaxing getaway.
We are committed to paying attention to our guest's needs. We're sure you will agree that we have thought of everything to make your getaway enjoyable and memorable.
We have a couple of bicycles that are often available for you to use (someone may have already borrowed one) to explore or bring your own. There is also a local bike rental shop. Ride the extensive “rails-to-trails” system that runs nearby. Ride downtown to catch a summer Tuesday night free concert at the Montague Band Shell on the shores of White Lake.
There is plenty of parking for your boat, snowmobile trailer, etc. We are located right by access to area snowmobile and cross-country ski trails.
WIFI Wireless Internet Access is available free-of-charge throughout the Inn for our guest's use during their stay with us.
After a full day of exploring, enjoy a seasonal treat of hot cocoa and sweet biscuits in our large parlor in the wintertime. Or indulge in cheese and cider in the fall. Make your own s'mores and pair it with cold milk for a treat in the summertime before catching the gorgeous sunset. Spring brings lemonade and cookies for a late day treat.
Those checking in on Fridays and Saturdays, enjoy a complimentary glass of Michigan wine or mead at the welcome reception from 5 to 6 pm. (A note for our guests from afar: we are operating at Eastern Standard Time, EST)
Our rear gazebo porch is a popular place all day long, especially in the early mornings and right before dusk when the deer and wild turkeys wander through. The Hanson’s “girls” also trot about the lawns freely in the late afternoons. (The “girls” are the small flock of hens that faithfully provide all the necessary eggs.)
The rear porch is a great place to relax with a good book, or over a bit of wine and cheese for two. Ask Valerie about packing a picnic lunch for you to enjoy in your day's travels.
Stroll in the woods while taking in the forest surroundings or meander through the vegetable gardens. Perhaps collecting the eggs might be fun. (Be sure to check with the Hansons before doing this...John has designed a special nesting area that helps keep you clean while doing so.)
Don't forget to come back from dinner in time to play a board game, watch a movie or just relax in the privacy of your own room. All guest accommodations include cable TV.
We have a collection of board games for a romantic night for two or a fun time with friends. Often a game is going on in the parlor, or someone is tickling the ivories on John’s mother’s beautiful 1924 player piano. A 1917 Victrola is also in the Parlor for your musical enjoyment. Feel free to read or work on a puzzle in the parlor…or just visit….this is your home away from home.
A beverage area is available 24 hours for your enjoyment of select coffees, teas, and cocoa, as well as a welcome tray with cookies (what farm home would be without cookies?)
Our Jacuzzi suite has terry cloth bathrobes for you to relax in and a fireplace for ambiance. And all of our rooms have specially made soaps that Valerie designed and made for you.
Of course, a full, hot, farm-style breakfast is included in your room rates; and it is served between 8:30 and 9:30 am. It will start your day fantastically. It is made with local foods & produce, when possible, grown and prepared by Valerie with her special skills in heirloom cooking. A hot entrée is complimented with an assortment of homemade breads, grains, meats, pastries, cheeses, fruits, and yogurt.
