WELCOME to Amanda's Bequest B&B

Located 1/2 mile from White Lake, and 4 miles from Lake Michigan, this romantic, unique, and delightful Montague area farm stay Bed & Breakfast is your perfect getaway for couples, solitary, business traveler, culinary excursion, historical experience or friends.  At Amanda's Bequest - A Heritage FarmStay Bed & Breakfast, you’ll enjoy an intimate, cozy and simply grand retreat in a heritage farm-style setting.  Our Bed & Breakfast is the place to stay in Montague, a beautiful lakeshore town. With our comfy beds, full amenities, private baths and more, we are the perfect alternative to a hotel.
Bygone Basics, a unique culinary experience that draws guests from all over the U.S.A. is on site at Amanda's Bequest.  Additionally, bring your bikes or use ours as we are connected to the miles of biking and walking paths leading to state parks and other beachside towns! We are seconds away from a large network of snowmobile and cross-country ski trails as well.  We’re just ½ mile from a public beach on White Lake.  Not to mention a short one and half mile jaunt to downtown Montague with its unique shops, Bardic Wells Meadery, Wednesday and Saturday farmer's market, Saturday artisan fair, boat launch, band shell, antique stores, maritime and cultural experiences.

As a Muskegon B&B, We are perfectly located to be your home base to visit other West Michigan lakeshore towns such as Whitehall, Silver Lake, Grand Haven, Muskegon, and Saugatuck.  We are 9 miles from Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park, 15 miles from the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex with its year round luge and ski trails, 23 miles from the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and 9 miles from the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.   Golf courses, horseback riding, museums, marinas, and farm markets are also only minutes away.
Your restful room includes a TV, DVD player, free Wi-Fi, private bath, any-time coffee/te
a service, and more. Our full breakfast always includes a fresh hot heirloom recipe main dish, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, and more depending on season...this is true farm to table eating.  We are often told the food is a very special quality and character in its delicious heirloom foods and abundance...(we are also told we don't tell potential guests this well enough, so.....now you know!)

We’re open year round so you can enjoy the beautiful seasons that Michigan offers.

With a focus on earth friendly and true farm-style, you won't find busy wall-paper or lots of fussy high victorian decor at this romantic B&B. The high ceilinged historic house has arched rooms with 8 foot windows are graceful in their grand simplicity. The decor is Hanson family heirlooms (most still in use) and relaxing comfort. The Hansons prefer not to  leave a big "carbon footprint" and so items are cleverly reused, reduced, and recycled.
View from the back deck gazebo on a summer afternoonAt Amanda's Bequest Bed and Breakfast you will enjoy quiet, serenity and privacy.    If you don't feel like biking, shopping, or other external activities, you can choose to engage in on-site heritage activities, such as butter churning, or jam making; stroll in the woods, gather eggs, watch the deer and wild turkey while relaxing on the back gazebo, harvest fresh produce, read or visit in the parlor, or play the piano...or do absolutely nothing at all.
